Head up to the National Museum of Wildlife Art this afternoon for a fun filled time during their "First Sundays Free" event. The museum opens at 11am with the Rising Sage open for lunch. Activities begin at 1:30pm with Santa, ornament craft project, holiday music and lots of opportunities for that perfect photo. Here is a list of everything happening:

WOW! The Jackson Hole Children's Museum is celebrating their ONE YEAR anniversary this weekend and they have an all day (and into the night) event planned! On Saturday, Nov. 3rd the doors will open at 10am and be FREE ALL DAY. Lots of great activities are on the agenda including an opportunity to paint one of the kid's favorite assistants with paint. Birthday cake will be served along with art, science, break dancing and the grand opening for a new ZIP LINE!
Along with this great day will be a family fun-raiser with the Laff Staff at The Rose. This all-ages show and dinner will include pizza from Pinky G's and a kid friendly improv performance. Tickets are on sale now and all proceeds benefit the museum. $12/person or $40/family of up to six people. You can purchase tickets from any board member or employee of the JHCM or just stop by the museum this week. Guaranteed to be an amazing event! See you there!
Tonight is the BBQ celebrating our local Fire/EMS efforts during the recent Horsethieft Fire. The fundraiser is to help replace the loss of Engine 18, which caught fire and burned during the first days. Open to everyone, this family-friendly event happens at 6pm-8pm and is at the Elks Lodge off of Broadway. All proceed raised will be given directly to the JH Fire/EMS through a 50% matching fund program recently set up with Bank of Jackson Hole and the Community Foundation. $15 per plate with BBQ pulled pork, Kelly's baked beans, corn on the cob, texas toast and dessert.
Saturday is the 5th Annual Harvest Festival! A free community event celebration the end of the season for local farmers and producers. This year is packed with over 40 vendors with everything from local produce, honey, artisan bread and desserts, gifts, clothing, jewelry, and even animal adoptions courtesy of the Teton Valley Adoption Center.
Kids activities are hosted by Teton Science Schools, Children's Learning Center, Jackson Hole Nannies, and Soul Spot. Meals and beverages will be available by Four Seasons Resort, MOMA Shack, E.Leaven, Snake River Roasters, Dragon Lady Teas, Teton Waters Ranch, and lots more.

The Journeys School Enrichment Academy starting their after-school programs on September 10th and registration is available now. Providing a unique experience for a child to develop and grow they will offer daily programs that run 9 or 10 weeks each.
Ages start at PreK and range to 12th grade. Each program is 3:30pm to 5:30pm with younger students offereed a snack and outdoor play.
Dates of Programs:
Fall Session: 10 Weeks (September 10 – November 30)
Winter Session: 10 Weeks (January 7 – March 22)
Spring Session: 9 Weeks (April 8 – June 3)
Grades PK-2: Grades Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd grade programs run every day throughout the academic year. Drop-ins are welcome but are contingent upon availability of space. Drop-in cost is $20/day and pre-registration cost is $15/day. Pre-registration is required by the start of each fall, winter, or spring session. Programs include: Young Engineers, Music Makers, Art Studio, Invention Central and Game Day
Grades 3-12: All costs are outlined in the program descriptions and are listed as cost per session. Courses that include events such as competitions and tournaments will require an additional fee to be determined with each event. Programs include: Robotics Music Academy, Mathworld, Mandarin Academy, Music Academy, Art Studio, Exploring History, Student Scientist (WY Science Fair) and Writer’s Workshop
With school in session and the Fall season upon us, it is time to sign up the kids for sport activities for after-school and weekends. Here are a few great options for the kids:
Youth Flag Football - A little league flag football program for boys and girls in grades one through four. Youth meet twice a week where they participate in instruction and skill development followed by scrimmages.
Swim Lessons - on-line registration starts September 4th at 7pm. Make sure you go to the website before registration to create your account. Walk in or phone registration will be accepted during normal operating hours the following day. For all the details and times for classes, see the website.
UPWARD BASKETBALL & CHEERLEADING
A sports league that encourages your child and is right for your busy schedule with one hour practice and 1 hour game each week. Registration is open until Sept 13th. For girls and boys in 1st-6th grade. Practice begins Sept 24th and runs until Nov 12th with six games in the season. Games and practice are at the Presbyterian Church. The Fall season schedule is out with may options for your youngster. Starting with kids 1 year and up they have something for everyone. Open gym is Mondays & Saturdays 12pm/11am for preschool aged kids and Saturdays 12pm for 5+ yrs. The after-school program includes a 55-minute gymnastics or Big Air class each day, free access to open gym, homework club, games, arts & crafts, and a healthy snack. The staff will pick up your child at the Smith & May school bus stop and walk them across the street to the center. For more information see the website.
